Since 2011, Ferndale has kicked off summer with its annual pride festival. Listed on the website After Ellen as a ”Small City Pride That is Worth the Trip,” Ferndale Pride draws more than 15,000 attendees for a full week of events leading up to Pride’s premiere event the daylong street fair. At one end of the fair, the mainstage entertains crowds with internationally known artists, such as The Clicks, Goddess & She, Tony Lucca and Tunde Olaniran. The dance stage keeps the crowd boogying as Detroit’s best DJs spin into the evening. Over a hundred booths line the streets as sponsors and vendors create a festive mood for the participants.
Sponsorships allow businesses and organizations an opportunity to promote themselves as well as join Ferndale’s biggest party of the year. Sponsors to date include MotorCity Casino Hotel, Suburban GMC, Ferndale, The Candle Wick Shop and Rosie O’Grady’s.
Ferndale Pride seeks unique vendors that speak to the vibrancy and diversity of our community. Local retailers, artists and craftspeople; gender and sexual minority centric vendors; and family oriented, healthy living and nonprofit organizations are some of the types of vendors who are successful at Ferndale Pride.
